The Emporia State baseball team was shut out by Missouri Southern 13-0 in game 1 of a 3-game series Friday. The Hornets were shut out on 1 hit.
Southern scored 4 runs in the 4th and added 6 runs in the 5th inning to secure the run-rule win.
The Hornets and Lions play again Saturday afternoon.
