The Emporia State softball team swept a doubleheader from Lincoln Saturday. The Lady Hornets won the first game 8-0 behind the 1 hit shut-out tossed by Josie Harrison. Harrison also drove in the game-ending run in the 5th inning.
Harrison would go 3 for 3 with a home run in the 2nd game leading Emporia State to a 9-1 win.
In the 2nd game, Emporia State scored 8 runs on 8 hits in the 2nd inning. 6 of the hits were for extra bases.
Jayda VanAckeren was the winning pitcher in game 2.
Coach April Rosales said it was a good bounce-back day after being swept by Central Missouri on Friday.
The Emporia State softball team is now 18-12 for the season and 2-4 in the MIAA. They are scheduled to play at Northwest Missouri State next Friday.
