The Lyon County ballot for the 2023 election cycle continues to expand, albeit slowly.
Nicolette Nuessen filed for re-election to the Americus City Council, becoming the first candidate to fill one of the three positions on that board.
Elsewhere on the ballot, Jeremy Dorsey has filed for re-election to his at-large seat on the USD 253 Emporia school board, while Emily Darbyshire has filed for re-election to USD 252 Southern Lyon County Position 5.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is noon June 1. If enough candidates file, a primary election will be held Aug. 1. The general election is Nov. 7.
