Emporia High is searching for a new football coach.
Coach Keaton Tuttle has resigned after two seasons as head coach.
Tuttle says it was a tough decision to step down.
Tuttle was named interim head coach in October 2020 and was named head coach in February 2021.
Prior to being named head coach, Tuttle was the Spartans’ offensive line coach for five seasons.
Tuttle will be taking an assistant college coaching position. Tuttle says it was a goal to become a coach at the collegiate level.
Emporia High athletic director Beau Welch says the Spartans are losing a great person.
Welch says a search for a new coach has begun. The goal for Welch is to have a coach hired by April.
