Unrelated drug distribution and rape cases will overlap in Lyon County District Court on Thursday.
Wendy Gregg is set for a preliminary hearing after being charged with single counts of marijuana distribution and drug paraphernalia possession. Gregg is accused of having up to 450 grams of marijuana with intent to distribute after an alleged incident March 16.
Meanwhile, Jovani Sotelo has a pretrial conference ahead. He faces two counts of rape and one count of aggravated criminal sodomy after an alleged incident Jan. 8. All three counts have alternates involving the same charges as the initial counts — but they also accuse Sotelo of illegal sexual activity while the alleged victim was incapable of giving consent due to the use of alcohol or drugs. Sotelo may learn his upcoming trial date options at the end of the hearing.
Both hearings are set for 2 pm. Gregg will appear before Judge Laura Miser, while Sotelo will appear before Judge Lee Fowler.
