A Lyon County drug distribution case will move to sentencing instead of trial, while a separate drug distribution case had some adjustments approved this week.
Rodney Steven Kindle was set for trial to begin as soon as Monday in his drug distribution case, but he accepted a plea as part of a status hearing Wednesday. Kindle was originally charged with distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with law enforcement, after an alleged incident this past December. The agreement involves no-contest pleas to the paraphernalia possession and interference charges, meaning the distribution charge is dropped.
Sentencing will be at 9 am May 19.
Meanwhile, Jason Hill was scheduled for a preliminary hearing, but that was moved to April 19 after previous defense attorney Ty Wheeler withdrew from the case. Brian Williams was appointed as Hill’s defense attorney.
Hill is accused of distributing 50 pills of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine during an alleged incident Feb. 18, as well as possessing methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Separately, an aggravated child endangerment case is now set for sentencing.
Larry Jan Williams pleaded no contest to one of two aggravated endangerment counts against him after an alleged incident in December. The second endangerment count, as well as counts of marijuana, meth and paraphernalia possession, were dropped.
Sentencing is June 2 at 9 am.
