Lyon County Commissioners approved multiple requests from county departments during their weekly action meeting Thursday morning.
Lyon County Controller Dan Williams presented an invoice from Kansas Workers Risk Cooperative for Counties. The $23,234 invoice pertained to workers’ compensation and insurance audited premium adjustments and gained unanimous approval.
Separately, commissioners gave approval to three requests from Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods for a 2023 Silverado pickup truck for $53,826, a change order for additional labor, equipment and water from NG Construction for $20,625 and an agreement with BG Consultants for design services to replace FAS Bridge 60 over Eagle Creek located half a mile west of Olpe for an estimated $39,100. Commissioners also discussed repairs on Road 170 from Kansas Highway 130 east to the termination and gave directions for the Highway Department to proceed.
Amy Welch of the Noxious Weeds Department also submitted a 2023 chemical bid from Van Diest Supply Company totaling $289,722.86. Commissioners approved the bid 3-0.
HR Director Janice Huffman then reviewed first-quarter employee task force policies. Commissioners also held a pair of executive sessions for non-elected personnel matters with no action taken.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its regular action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
