The Emporia High baseball team was swept by Hayden Friday at Soden’s Grove.
Hayden won the first game 12-1 in six innings and the second game 11-1 in five innings.
Emporia High coach Anthony Markowitz says the Spartans are struggling to produce at the plate.
In game one, Hayden led 7-0 before Emporia High scored its lone run of game one in the fifth. Max Rusco went 2-for-3 at the plate.
In game two, Hayden led 4-0 before Emporia High made it 4-1 thru three innings. The Wildcats then tacked on seven in the fifth. Owen Ruge was 2-for-2 at the plate.
Emporia High is now 0-4 on the season and 0-2 in Centennial League play. They’ll travel to Junction City for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
