Emporia State University has two notable celebrations on campus Friday.
ESU is holding its annual Women’s History Month Reception and Awards Ceremony. The event always includes three award presentations of note:
*This year’s Ruth Schillinger Award recipient for extraordinary and sustained contributions to the women of ESU is Dr. Rebecca Rodriguez Carey, an assistant professor in the Department of Social Sciences, Sociology and Criminology.
*The recipient of the Mary Headrick Award, given to somebody who makes a long-term commitment promoting the growth of women on and off campus, is Clara Corn, an instructor in the Art Therapy program in the Department of Counselor Education.
*The Susan B Anthony Scholarship goes to Biology junior Makayla Hallacy. The scholarship goes to an ESU student who maintains academic excellence and contributes to the growth of women on campus.
Activities will be from 3:30-5 pm at the Memorial Union Greek Room.
