USD 252 Southern Lyon County has named the new K-12 Principal at Olpe.
Julianna Schmid has spent the past five years as the district’s special education coordinator. Schmid has worked for the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative for the past 18 years and has spent time as a resource and intensive skills teacher at Council Grove and Neosho Rapids Elementary schools.
Schmid attended Emporia State University where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education in 2004 and a Master’s in Adaptive Special Education in 2008. In a news release from the district, Schmid says “I am extremely honored and humbled for this opportunity to be the PreK-12 Principal at Olpe. I look forward to continuing to build relationships within Olpe Schools and the
Community.”
Schmid replaces Shane Clark who has been connected to the schools the last 14 years following the announcement of his departure earlier this year. Schmid will assume her new duties Jul. 1.
