It was not a good day for the Emporia State softball team, they were swept by Missouri Western in a doubleheader Saturday.
Western won the first game 8-0, scoring 4 runs in the 3rd inning and 4 runs in the 5th inning. Emporia State managed 5 hits and stranded 7 baserunners.
Missouri Western won the 2nd game 9-2. Western scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and added 4 runs in the 4th inning. Emporia State scored 2 runs in the 5th, Emma Furnish singled to drive in Roni Rains. Then Furnish scored on Josie Harrison’s single.
The Emporia State softball team falls to 19 and 15 for the season and 3 and 7 in the MIAA.
They are scheduled to host William Jewell in a doubleheader Tuesday.
