The Emporia High boys golf team is in a good position heading into the season.
The Spartans return four golfers from last year’s team that finished seventh at state.
Senior Caden Massey returns. He finished in a tie for 21st at state a season ago.
Also returning for the Spartans are Hudson Sauder, Nolan Jacob, and Will Walker.
Coach Rick Eckert likes the team he has heading into the season.
Emporia High will send golfers to El Dorado and Salina Central to open the season on Monday. The Spartans then will travel to Wamego for the Washburn Rural Invitational on Thursday.
Emporia High’s lone home meet is scheduled for May 8.
