Chase County deputies were involved in a Silver Alert search that ended well Saturday.
The search for 85-year-old David Sawdy of Andover officially began Friday, but it intensified shortly after 4 pm Saturday when Marion County received a call about an unoccupied vehicle registered to Sawdy and found about two miles west of Florence. Chase County deputies provided a drone for an aerial search along with the Kansas Highway Patrol’s helicopter, along with a ground search involving Andover Police, Marion County and Butler County deputies, two K-9 units and a tracking bloodhound.
Around 10:30 pm, a passerby found Sawdy about two miles from his vehicle in an unoccupied area. He has been listed as safe.
