Social Innovation Laboratory hosted its first inaugural gala to fundraise for projects to support at-risk communities Saturday evening.
Members of the community were able to enjoy an elegant night of delicious food, 80s music and a silent auction to support the social programs Social Innovation Laboratory has in the community.
Social Innovation Laboratory Executive Director Melissa Owen says the fire and ice theme for the gala is inspired by the different social issues the community face and hopes the event opens a space of dialogue and solutions.
Founder of Social Innovation Laboratory Dr. Matthew Shepherd says the Fire and Ice Gala is a way they can fundraise for the projects other funds do not cover and in that way continue supporting the members of the community who are in need.
Totals of the event are still pending.
