Lyon County officials have confirmed formal charges connected to last week’s lockdown incident at several west Emporia schools and Flint Hills Technical College as well as the suspect name.
Arlo Gunnar Feuillerat, 14, has been charged with a single count of aggravated assault. He has a detention hearing at 2 pm April 11 in Lyon County District Court.
Because this is a juvenile case, court records are not available through the Kansas District Court Public Information Portal. Information was provided to KVOE News by Lyon County District Court.
Charges were filed late last week after an incident Wednesday originating at Emporia High and later causing lockdowns at the high school, Emporia Middle School, USD 253 Transitions, Village Elementary and Flint Hills Technical College. The incident unfolded as students were moving to class as part of the traditional Wednesday late start. Authorities say a teenager with a BB gun was pursued by School Resource Officer Todd Ayer in and out of the high school. A subsequent search of the area, especially near and east of the high school, led to the suspect and what Emporia Police officers are calling an aggravated assault victim. That person’s name has not been released.
