The Emporia High baseball team was swept by Junction City Tuesday.
Junction City won the first game 12-10 before taking the second game 12-2 in five innings.
In game one, Junction City led 3-0 early before Emporia High scored two in the third. Junction City then took a 6-2 lead before the Spartans tied the game at 6 in the fourth. The Blue Jays led 7-6 heading to the fifth.
Each team scored three runs in their halves of the fifth with Junction City leading 10-9.
The Spartans tied the game at 10 in the sixth before Junction City got two runs in the bottom half of the inning for the win.
Drew Hess went 3-for-3 at the plate.
In game two, Emporia High held a 1-0 lead early, but then Junction City scored six consecutive runs to take a 6-1 lead thru two innings. The Spartans got a run back in the third, but Junction City put up six more runs to seal the run-rule victory.
Jaxon Dial went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Emporia High is now 0-6 on the season, 0-4 in the Centennial League. Up next is a home doubleheader at Soden’s Grove against Washburn Rural on Friday.
