The USD 252 Southern Lyon County Board of Education’s ballot is slowly expanding.
Justin Farr is running for Position 4, a seat currently held by longtime board member Kevin Flott — who has not filed for re-election at this time. Farr is the first candidate for Position 4 and the second overall candidate on the district’s ballot, following current Board President Emily Darbyshire for Position 5.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is still nearly two months away at noon June 1. Also on the Lyon County ballot are USD 253 Emporia board member Jeremy Dorsey and Americus City Council member Nicolette Nuessen.
The 2023 election cycle involves school boards, city councils, city commissions and mayors. If enough candidates file for election, there will be a primary Aug. 1.
