The Emporia High girls swim team finished third in its home invitational Thursday.
Emporia High finished with 322 points, 30 behind team champion Independence and 19 behind second place DeSoto.
Alison Brown led the way with two top-3 finishes. She finished second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free.
The 400 free relay team of Ryan Peak, Brooke Monroe, Arianna Hamilton and Alison Brown finished second. The quartet also made up the 200 free relay team that finished third.
Ryan Peak finished fifth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free.
Camryn Spafford cut time in both of her events. She was sixth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 breaststroke and was a part of the 200 medley relay and the ‘B’ 400 free relay.
Emporia High coach Jamie Dawson says this week was a step in the right direction.
