Newman won the men’s duel 4-3. Emporia State won the doubles point winning at number 2 doubles and 3 doubles.
Emporia States Dominik Simunovic won at number 1 singles. Newman won at 2, 3, and 4 singles. Emporia States Gzuendal Mazuay won at number 5 singles. Newman won at 6 singles. 3 matches included tiebreakers and two matches went to 3 sets.
Newman won the women’s duel 5-2. Newman won all 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point and won at 1, 2, 4, and 6 singles.
Emporia States Angelina Gnezdilova won at number 3 singles, and Paige Stanghoner won at number 5 singles.
The Emporia State men host Southeastern Oklahoma State Monday.
Both the Emporia State men and women play at Rockhurst Tuesday.
