The Emporia High softball team was swept by Junction City Friday afternoon.
Junction City won game one 13-3 and took the second game, 16-6, both in five innings.
In game one, Junction City led 7-0 before Emporia High scored its lone runs of the game in the third inning. Ryane Howe drove in a run on a bases-loaded walk and Aliva Anno had a 2-run double.
Junction City then scored two in the fourth and four in the fifth for the run-rule victory.
Anno was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs.
In game two, Emporia High held a 2-0 lead in the first. Shaylee Ginter stole home for the first run and Addie Kirmer had an RBI triple. Junction City scored five in the first before Emporia High responded with two in the third inning. Kirmer had an RBI single and Yzabel Ultreras had an RBI double.
Junction City responded with 11 unanswered runs, four in the third and seven in the fourth. Emporia High scored twice in the fifth, Anno had an RBI groundout and Kirmer stole home.
Kirmer was 2-for-2 with two RBIs at the plate.
Emporia High is now 1-5 on the season and 1-5 in the Centennial League. Up next for the Lady Spartans is a trip to Ottawa for a makeup doubleheader on Thursday.
