Saturday saw a unique fundraiser supporting Emporia High’s theatre arts.
Outside of Mr. Goodcents, locals of Emporia paid to play rounds of mini-golf all to benefit EHS students who will be traveling to Indiana this year for the International Thespian Festival. The festival hosts actors, costumers, and tech crew from across the U.S. who gather to compete in respective categories, meet other thespians, and participate in workshops.
Kacie Hastings, Emporia High School’s Theatre Teacher, says that this experience is incredibly beneficial for the students.
Additionally, the fundraiser itself was student-led. Junior Kinsey West, Thespian Troop Member, explains that the mini-golf idea actually came from working at the location.
