The teenager accused of aggravated assault in an alleged incident that led to lockdowns at several Emporia schools and Flint Hills Technical College late last month will remain in detention until his next hearing.
Arlo Feuillerat appeared in Lyon County District Court for a short detention hearing Tuesday. Judge Doug Jones denied a defense motion for Feuillerat to stay at a relative’s house with GPS monitoring, instead keeping the 14-year-old in detention until his next court appearance at 2 pm April 25. Potential pretrial matters will also be addressed during that hearing.
Feuillerat was charged after allegedly bringing a BB gun to Emporia High School on March 29. Authorities say the resulting search triggered lockdowns at the high school, as well as Emporia Middle School, USD 253 Transitions, Village Elementary and Flint Hills Technical College. Emporia Police have mentioned an aggravated assault victim in their subsequent media release but have not named that person.
