The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a suspect who fled an attempted traffic stop early Tuesday evening.
According to Lyon County Sgt. Zach Shafer, at approximately 7:45 pm he attempted to stop a motorcycle for excessive speed at Interstate 35 mile marker 131 northbound. Shafer says the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, roughly 116 mph, at the time he initiated the stop.
The rider fled and increased their speed near 130 mph according to Shafer. The pursuit was later called off due as authorities lost sight of the suspect. Shafer did not confirm whether the suspect continued into Coffey County.
