A pretrial hearing is coming next month in a Lyon County drug distribution case.
Franklin Burch, accused of marijuana distribution and paraphernalia possession, has a pretrial hearing May 23. Burch may learn his potential trial start dates during that hearing.
Burch is accused of distributing up to 450 grams of pot as part of an alleged incident last month.
A separate Lyon County drug distribution case has a review hearing up next.
As part of his preliminary hearing this week, Maurice De’Sean Evans had a competency evaluation ordered at his defense team’s request. CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness will handle that evaluation.
Evans is accused of distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine. He’s also accused of trafficking contraband — in this case, a clear plastic bag containing a crystallized substance and/or a cigarette — and possessing paraphernalia as part of an alleged incident a month ago.
The review hearing is May 8.
Meanwhile, a woman accused of aggravated offender registry violations has a pretrial conference next month.
Amy Renee Meyers was set for a hearing May 11. She’s accused of four separate offender registry violations between January 2021 and January 2022 after an indecent liberties conviction in Richland Parish, Louisiana, in a 2016 case.
Meyers may learn her potential trial start dates at next month’s hearing.
