Road resurfacing work is coming to US Highway 50 between Emporia and Strong City as soon as next week.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says resurfacing will start Monday, weather permitting. The work zone will be from the Lyon-Chase county line to near Lyon County Road E-5, or around four miles.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane and will be directed by a pilot car, flaggers, signs and cones. There could be traffic delays of up to 15 minutes with work taking place Mondays through Fridays — and possibly Saturdays — through early July.
This is a $3 million project. APAC-Kansas Shears Division was awarded the bid.
