Several area firefighting departments battled a small structure fire between Emporia and Allen.
Firefighters were called out to 2426 Road J-5, about six miles north of Emporia, nine miles south of Allen and three miles east of Americus, just after 5:45 pm. Emporia Fire Capt. Tony Fuller says the fire was limited to the east wall of the house, although the cause will remain undetermined.
No injuries have been reported.
Emporia, Emporia Rural, Allen-Admire, and Americus firefighters responded, along with Lyon County deputies and 4 Rivers Electric Cooperative.
