Lyon County deputies are still investigating after a teenager in Americus reported being raped this week.
The incident was reported Monday afternoon. The 14-year-old female said she saw a suspicious man driving a white or silver passenger car while she was walking. Shortly afterward, the girl says a middle-aged Hispanic man used an unlocked back door to get inside the house and raped her. The girl says she was alone at the time.
Additional descriptive information is pending. Despite social media comments to the contrary, the Sheriff’s Office says there are no indications of a widespread public safety threat in this case.
