A Kansas City-area man has been arrested after an alleged chase originating in Osage County on Thursday.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says an alleged traffic violation led to an attempted traffic stop on Interstate 35 just east of the Waverly exit. Instead, the driver, later identified as 42-year-old Terrence J Wade of Shawnee, allegedly drove off and led authorities into rural areas of Coffey and Anderson counties. Wells says Wade eventually went down a dead-end road and ditched his vehicle, starting a foot pursuit before he was eventually captured.
Wade was arrested on suspicion of flee and elude, aggravated assault on law enforcement and interference with law enforcement, as well as outstanding warrants out of Jackson and Shawnee counties.
Wells says Osage County deputies got help from Coffey and Anderson County deputies, as well as the Kansas Highway Patrol and Garnett Police, as the pursuit developed.
