The Emporia State baseball team held on for a 10-8 win over Washburn Saturday.
The Hornets built a 9-5 lead with 5 runs in the 6th inning but had to hold off a 9th inning rally by Washburn when the Ichabods scored 2 runs.
Patryk Hernandez powered the Hornet offense hitting 2 home runs while going 3 for 3 at the plate with 4 RBI.
Chandler Bloomer added a 2 run home run.
Noah Geekie was the winning pitcher and Will Hann earned his 2nd save.
Emporia State and Washburn wrap up their 3-game series Sunday afternoon in Topeka.
