Last month’s Friends of the Emporia Public Library annual spring book sale brought in a much larger total than what the group has been accustomed to in recent years.
The sale, which ran from March 25-30, brought in a grand total of just over $10,000 for the friends group according to secretary Dee Schwinn.
Schwinn says the proceeds will go a long way in helping the public library continue to provide quality programming to local children and families.
With the success of the spring sale, the friends of the library are now gearing up for a summer flash sale this July.
The sale will take place Jul. 21-22 and donations are being accepted for the sale at this time. Those interested can drop off donations at 618 Mechanic between 9 am and 12 pm Tuesdays, 1 pm to 3 pm Wednesdays and 9 am to 11:30 am and then 1 pm to 3 pm on Thursdays.
