Residents with electric vehicles have a new charging station option to use.
The charging station at 1005 Mechanic is now fully operable, according to the city of Emporia’s Natural Resources Advisory Board. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3 pm Wednesday.
The charging station is the result of an agreement reached between the city and Evergy almost two years ago. Four chargers are available. Chargers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, costing 21 cents an hour for vehicle owners to use.
