The Royals trailed 3-2 after 5 innings. The rest of the game belonged to Texas. The Rangers scored 5 runs in the 6th and added 4 runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach.
Kansas City has now lost five straight, eight of its last nine, and eight consecutive losses at Kauffman Stadium. At 4-14, this season is the second-worst 18-game start in franchise history. Second to the 1992 season when they started 2-16.
