Now both Kansas Turnpike service exit restaurants in the KVOE listening area are closed for remodeling.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority announced the Matfield Green service exit closed recently as the restaurants go from Hardee’s and Dunkin Donuts to Dairy Queen and Subway. Drive-thru access returns by late June, with dine-in access returning by mid-July.
Work has now been underway for several weeks at the Emporia service exit as the longstanding McDonald’s gets replaced by a Subway and Taco John’s. The Turnpike Authority says drive-thru returns by mid-May, with the dine-in option returning by early June.
