An attempted murder case in Lyon County District Court has a motions hearing as the next step in its process.
Logan Dale Casteel is accused in trying to kill Justin Smith of Fredonia this past October. Casteel’s attorney Rick Meier, has requested immunity for his client, citing Casteel’s right to self-defense and accusing Smith of punching Casteel with a knife in hand before the alleged shooting.
The motions hearing is at 1:15 pm Friday before Judge Lee Fowler. Trial is tentatively set for July 17.
