The Emporia High baseball team was swept by Manhattan Friday night.
Manhattan won the first game 12-3 and followed that with an 11-1 victory in the second game.
In game one, Emporia High held a 2-0 lead early, getting a run in each of the first two innings. Aiden Skiles had an RBI double in the first and Madden Seidl stole home in the second.
Manhattan responded with three in the second. Emporia High tied the game at 3 in the fourth on an RBI sing by Aiden Ewing. After that, Manhattan scored five in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Skiles went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI.
In game two, Manhattan led 5-0 thru two innings and never looked back. Emporia High scored its lone run in the third with Jaxon Dial scoring on a passed ball. Manhattan tacked on four in the third and one each in the fifth and sixth.
Owen Ruge went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Emporia High is now 0-14 on the season and 0-10 in Centennial League play. Up next for the Spartans is a trip to Wichita to face Life Prep on Tuesday.
