Resurfacing work is well underway on US Highway 50 west of Emporia.
Work began April 17 from the Lyon-Chase county line, with renovations ultimately covering about four miles of highway to Lyon County Road E-5 by early July.
Traffic has been constricted to one lane with delays of up to 15 minutes in work zones. A combination of a pilot car, flaggers, signs and cones have been used and will remain in effect through the project.
APAC-Kansas of Hutchinson won the project with a $3 million bid.
