Chilly conditions in place Saturday morning will return early Sunday.
Saturday has Morris and Wabaunsee counties in freeze warnings. Meanwhile, the freeze watch issued for all area counties Sunday morning has been upgraded to a freeze warning with low temperatures at or below 30 degrees.
Frost and freeze conditions could damage or kill plants, especially unprotected ones.
Looking ahead — after scattered heavy rain as part of severe weather activity Wednesday, rain returns to the forecast by Monday afternoon and remains in the picture basically all week. The National Weather Service says much of the KVOE listening area could get 1-2 inches of total rainfall through the work week, with the heaviest totals just south and west of Emporia.
