Ground has broken on a significant retail and travel development in far west Emporia.
Brownstone 3 Development Vice President of Operations Darrin Dodge says the travel plaza on US Highway 50 just west of Graphic Arts Road is now into the construction phase. LV Petroleum will be the operator, bringing a nationally-branded fuel supplier to the development. The supplier’s name will be announced at a later time.
Within the next two to four months, Dodge says the strip center will break ground, with a hotel either announced at that time or as soon as negotiations are completed.
Underground utility work for the better than 30-acre development — designed to bring restaurants, a hotel, an RV park and strip mall to Emporia — finished late last year.
