It’s for amateurs now instead of professionals, but the Glass Blown Open disc golf tournament this week will bring over 500 contestants to Emporia.
Play begins Friday, and Tournament Director Jackie Morris says a lot of the field has been in town already, either taking part in some of the Flex-Start C-Tier events already on the schedule or getting ready for others later this week.
Morris says there will be a lot of opportunities all tournament long for the public to enjoy the action, and she’s encouraging residents to attend Saturday’s block party and food truck festival.
Courses will be at Emporia Community Club — formerly the Country Club — as well as Peter Pan Park and Jones Park, which will have two courses for the players.
