The Arizona Diamondbacks outscored the Kansas City Royals 5-4 Monday night.
The Royals scored 1st on an Edward Olivares home run in the 1st inning. Arizona scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning taking a lead they would not give up. The Royals tied the game at 2 in the 3rd inning when Vinnie Pasquantino scored on a Salvador Perez single. The Diamondbacks scored 2 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Perez doubled to drive in Edward Olivares in the 5th. Michael Massey scored on a Kyle Isbel single in the 8th to tie the game at 4. Arizona scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the 8th inning. Royals pitchers would walk 8 batters and 4 of them scored. The Royals and Diamondbacks play again tonight. Brady Singer will be the starting pitcher for the Royals with the first pitch set for 8:40 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 8 pm.
The Royals also reinstated Franmil Reyes from the paternity list. They sent Nate Eaton to Omaha.
