Lyon County residents with last names ending with the letters C or D still have until Friday to renew their vehicle tags without penalty, although the schedule is compressed for people owning commercial vehicles.
Lyon County Treasurer Sharon Gaede says Motor Vehicle Office staffers will not process commercial vehicle licenses Thursday or Friday.
Gaede says residents needing to renew licenses can claim a spot in line virtually through the QLess mobile app. Residents can use the kiosk outside the Motor Vehicle Office, text Lyon County Motor Vehicle — four separate words — to 620-254-9998 or visit the Quick Links section of the lyoncounty.org front page.
Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm weekdays.
