According to ESPN the Kansas City Chiefs have resigned All-Pro punter Tommy Townsend.
Townsend joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He has appeared in every game since, including a pair of Super Bowl appearances.
The NFL Draft will be held beginning Thursday in Kansas City.
The Chiefs have the 31st pick in the draft. Chiefs GM Brett Veach says they could move up if it makes sense.
Veach said this draft will be about getting better. One of the spots could be at receiver.
Veach says this draft does offer a number of opportunities especially defensively.
The Chiefs will have 1 pick in the first, second, third, and fifth rounds.
They have two picks in the 4th, 6th, and 7th rounds.
The Carolina Panthers have the overall number 1 pick.
The draft runs thru Saturday.
