The Kansas City Royals were winners Tuesday night, holding on for a 5-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Royals had built a 5-1 lead going to the bottom of the 8th when Arizona scored 2 runs to make the game interesting.
Brady Singer was the winning pitcher. He finished 6 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks.
Scott Barlow earned the save, his third of the season.
The Royals and Diamondbacks play again Wednesday afternoon. Ryan Yarbrough will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 2:40 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM, coverage begins at 2 pm.
