The Dynamic Disc hosted Glass Blown Open disc golf tournament began Friday. 521 amateur players are competing in 11 different divisions. Play is taking place at Jones Park, East, and West courses. Peter Pan Park and the Emporia Country Club.
After day 1 Former Emporia State basektball player and WIBW Sportscaster J.B. Bauersfeld had the best day. He finished the first round at 8 under par playing in the Mixed Amateur 40+ division.
He is tied with Douglas Shelton of Arlington, Texas. Emporian Christina Van Gorder had the lead in the women’s 40+ division at +16.
Emporian Spencer Pike is in a 3-way tie for first place in the Mixed Amateur 2 division at 4 under par. He is tied with Dustin Riste of Austin, Minnesota, and James Barry of Lenexa, Kansas.
The tournament wraps up on Sunday.
