One person has been arrested on suspicion of flee and elude after a pursuit across several counties early Monday morning.
Ruben Alejando Lucero, age 22, was arrested and booked into the Coffey County Jail in Burlington after a chase that started around 1:30 am in eastern Marion County and ended near Williamsburg in Franklin County, with deputies from Chase, Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties all involved as the chase rapidly moved to the east.
Marion County says a deputy tried to stop the vehicle in question for alleged speeding but the driver took off to the east at a high rate of speed. Coffey County deputies say speeds reached around 120 mph in Franklin County before deputies called off the chase for what turned out to be the final time.
Formal charges are pending. No injuries were reported.

Law enforcement officials from four area counties were involved in a vehicle pursuit early Monday morning.
The chase reportedly originated in Marion County and then worked east through Chase, Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties, with Chase County deputies getting called to respond just after 1:30 am and Lyon County asked to respond less than 15 minutes later. The suspect allegedly stopped in Franklin County, but word on a potential arrest is currently pending.
A suspect’s name has not been released. Details about why the chase developed have not been announced.
