Spring is typically rough for allergy patients, and this spring has been no different.
Certified physician assistant Nita Bittle at Newman Regional Health Medical Partners says there are some telltale signs that you’re suffering from allergies or an infection of some sort. Clear drainage and itchy noses, eyes and ears all signal allergy problems, while colored drainage is a sign of infection, either bacterial or viral. Bittle says there are also some signs you may need to set a doctor’s visit, depending on you feel.
Residents who may be new to allergies should look at the potential side effects, including whether medications make them drowsy or how they might affect with existing conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. Saline sinus rinses can also be effective.
