A man convicted in Lyon County District Court of aggravated indecent liberties against a teenager will spend nearly 15 years in prison.
Harvey Grandstaff was sentenced Tuesday to 172 months after his conviction last month. Grandstaff, now 66, also has to register as a sex offender and has lifetime postrelease supervision.
Grandstaff was accused of fondling a 15-year-old in December 2021. The jury acquitted Grandstaff of lewd and lascivious charges with the same child in 2010 and 2012.
Grandstaff was already convicted in 1991 of aggravated incest due to an incident in 1989, followed by convictions in 1997 for aggravated assault on law enforcement, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal threat.
