No damage or injuries have been reported after a small earthquake in far western Chase County on Tuesday morning.
A magnitude 2.5 quake was reported just east of the Marion County line, about 10 miles north of Cedar Point and 35 miles west of Emporia, shortly before 7 am.
The Kansas Geological Survey says this is the sixth earthquake in Chase County so far this year, all between magnitudes 2 and 3 and all in the same five-square-mile area north of Cedar Point. There have been seven earthquakes on the Marion County side of the county line, all between magnitudes 2.4 and 3.
