Live music, good company and plenty of fresh locally grown food will be available in downtown Emporia Saturday morning.
The Emporia Farmers Market will be kicking off its regular outdoor market season in the parking lot at Seventh and Market. Market Director Trisha Fullerton, a guest of KVOE’s Morning Show Thursday, says their vendors are “ready to go.”
In terms of what market-goers can expect to see Saturday, Fullerton says there is once again a wide variety of foods and other items available for purchase.
Saturday marks the start of the 41st outdoor year for the Farmers Market and it will include a, somewhat, new start time at 8 am until 10:30 am. Fullerton says this is actually a return to the market’s original start time when it first began and came at the request of market vendors.
Markets will be held every Saturday of the month through the summer season, with Wednesdays added from June-September. For more information find the Emporia Farmers Market on Facebook.
