With the launch of the City of Emporia’s new website earlier this year also came an updated and improved online bill payment option.
City Treasurer Janet Harouff, a recent guest of KVOE’s Morning Show, says the city has had the online payment option for close to two years now and it provides a level of convenience the city couldn’t provide before.
Harouff adds the new online portal also accepts all credit cards and accepts PayPal, Google Pay and Venmo.
While the online portal has been available for the past few years, Harouff says the city has just recently begun ramping up education on the option following the recent city website update from earlier this year. Prior to the new webpage, Harouff says the online option was both difficult to find and less than “user-friendly” two issues that were resolved as part of the recent website revamp.
Harouff says she understands there may be those who are “apprehensive” to utilize the online option for several reasons including security concerns. To that point, Harouff assures all residents the new website and pay portal are “extremely safe and secure.”
To utilize the new online bill pay option, visit the city’s website EmporiaKS.gov and click the online bill pay tab on the main webpage. Residents can also scan a QR code on their monthly utility bill to be taken to the payment platform.
